It seems that for this tournament, the ‘Group of Death’ has actually become the ‘Groups of Death’ with Group D looking almost as difficult as Group G to navigate. Germany are joined by Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Portugal, Ghana and the USA. Germany and Portugal are the obvious choices to gain qualification, but Ghana will be a hard side to beat and the USA are managed by former Germany manager Jurgen Klinsmann.
Group G Runner Up Odds
Group G, again, is a very difficult group to predict but it is hard to see past both Germany and Portugal. The German side have finished third in the past two World Cups and look very strong again going into this years tournament. Germany are 1.14 to qualify at William Hill. Portugal came into the tournament via the playoffs – Ronaldo scoring all four of their goals against Sweden in two legs, and the last time these two met Portugal lost only 1-0. Portugal are 1.5 to qualify at Bet365. Ghana qualified for the tournament with a 7-3 aggregate win over Egypt in the third African qualifying round and they are 4.00 to qualify at Ladbrokes. The USA managed to come top of the CONCACAF group and therefore qualify for the tournament and they are 4.2 to qualify at Ladbrokes.
Best Group G Bet
It looks like it could be a two horse race for the two qualifying spots in Group G, it’s just a question of where they will end up. Germany are 1.57 to win the group. Portugal on the other hand are 3.75 to win the group at Bet365, but with Ronaldo among their ranks it’s unwise to rule them out of the top spot. The final two sides are ranked as outsiders to top the group – USA are 13.00 at Bet Victor whilst Ghana are 15.00 at SkyBet.
