Group A consists of four fairly good teams, although the fact that the hosts Brazil are involved means the winner is pretty much guaranteed. Cameroon, Croatia and Mexico are the other teams and Group A seems like a group where all the teams can take points from each other.
It goes without saying that Brazil are favourites to win the group but second place is a lot harder to estimate, although it is presumed that it will be between Croatia and Mexico.
Group A Runner Up Odds
Three out of four teams in Group A made it to the tournament through a play-off – Croatia made it to the World Cup through the European Play-Offs, beating Iceland 2-0 over two legs. They boast players such as Mario Mandzukic and Ivan Rakitic and are 2.3 to qualify for the next round with Ladbrokes. Javier Hernandez’s Mexico beat New Zealand and are 2.2 to qualify for the next round at Bwin. And finally Cameroon got past Tunisia and are 6.0 to qualify for the next round at Bet365.
Best Group A Bet
Normally the host always qualifies from the group and expect Brazil to be no different. They are 1.25 to win the group on home soil at Bet365. Of course this is football, so nothing is as straight forward as it seems, Croatia and Mexico are both 10 to win the group at Betfair.
